Our Machinery

This page is provides a general overview of our main machines and their features.

Our three main machines are the Amada HFP 100-3 Press Brake, the Amada EM2510NT Servo-Electric Turret Punch Press and the Amada LC-3015 X1 Laser Cutter, which has its own designated page on our website (click here for info).
Amada HFP 100-3 - Features

- World's Fastest Press Brake - Approach speed 200mm/sec; bending speed 20mm/sec; Return speed 200mm/sec; Back gauge positioning speed 100mm/sec; "Fastclamp" tool setup.

- Instant Reactive Beam - Patented instant reactive beam achieves parallel beam deflection to ensure consistent bending accuracy.

- Fast Tool Set-up - Automatic tool selection, navigation and complete tool library.

- Large Working Envelope - 470 mm open height for complete flexibility; 420mm throat depth; Narrow lower beam; gauging up to 1000mm.

The HFP - The Network Solution Press Brake
At Unicorn we demand the highest productivity along with greater part complexity. The Amada 100-3 provides the capacity for progressive sheet metal manufacture. The machine itself posesses a 3 metre bed, with a 100 tonne capacity, allowing virtually any piece to be worked upon.
The machines advanced features simplify the bending process allowing for more complex workpieces. Particular cuts and folds can be made using the punch press, then pressed further where necessary using the Amada 100-3. By combining the two machines a wider range of highly complex forms can be produced.

The process
A bar code reader instantly recalls part and tool data across a network and shows a graphical representation on the hi-res touch screen display.

A tool navigation system directs the accurate setup of the machine while 3D graphic representation guides the user through each step of the bending process. With the speed at which the HFP processes, it produces more parts per hour than any other press brake.

Amada Em2510
Amada EM2510NT - Features -

- High speed punching - newly designed AS servo direct twin drive improves hit rate, 500 HPM on 1" centers and 1800 SPM marking system

- Reduced Processing Time & Improved Accuracy - 100" X-axis table can process 8' sheets without the need for repositioning.

- Reduced Power Consumption - Energy saving design leads a power reduction of 60% compared to conventional designs

- Scratch Free Processing - Brush table design eliminates secondary finishing.

- Slug Pull Protection - Power vacuum slug pull system virtually eliminates any slug pull concerns..

Machine Overview
The Amada EM2510NT is the world’s fastest sheet metal punch press, capable of 1800 strokes per minute and our plant in Burnley is one of the first to make use of this new electrically-powered machine in the UK. The puch press' capability of 1800 strokes every minute, makes it 60% more energy efficient than conventional models.
